Today is our first class meeting for Campus 3 and 4.  Groups were chosen today. This is our Campus 3 and 4 group:

Jayy Lovette                                  Campus 4                                  Producer
Erik McKinnis                                Campus 4                                  Producer
Charles Williams                            Campus 4                                  Producer
Ann Hartsock                                 Campus 3                                  Crew
Jonathan Potter                              Campus 3                                  Crew

Our crew decided on a twenty-two minute program with a ten-minute promo and an advertisement.  I was chosen as Production Secretary for the project. We moved to the Art Gallery downstairs to discuss our ideas for the project and to exchange phone numbers and e-mail addresses. It was decided that Jayy Lovette would write the script for the 22-minute program, Erik McKinnis would write the treatment and script for the ten-minute promo and Charles Williams would write the script and treatment for the advertisement. Matt Cikovic provided the group with names of the contacts needed to set up interviews with TnCIS.

Date: 1/18/2011
The class met in MC127 to go over the expectations of the class. We were given handouts on how to put the Production book together and on how to keep the daily log. Following this initial meeting, our group decided to meet in Katie Lovette’s office where all members of the group were present.
Jayy Lovette had his script completed and we talked about different ways to shoot it and different locations. It is a mafia based story that includes a murder by stabbing, a prominent male mob figure and a female photojournalist The parts have yet to be cast, although we decided to pursue the acting students for assistance as well as searching for talent individually. As for locations, alleys in the old city, woods located at Jayy’s house, Melton Hill Lake, Norris Dam, and Katie Lovette’s office were decided on as probable locations. Costumes were also discussed and agreed upon for dark colored clothing. The group decided that we would experiment with the camera for a nighttime scene and how to shoot it in the daytime. Jayy Lovette said that he wanted to shoot the projects using multi-cam and the group agreed. Ann Hartsock will also use her steadycam for the motion shots. The group decided that all members would participate in the editing which will be done at Jayy Lovette’s house.
The ideas for a commercial were brainstormed with the group deciding to do a parody of the Old Spice Commercials. Needing a large bodied man to play the central character, we chose a fellow named Warren for the part.
The group also discussed talent and location releases. Ann Hartsock will design a Blog for the group and Jayy Lovette will make a Facebook page for the group as well.
Jayy made a Facebook page tonight and invited Katie Lovette and the members of the group to join.

Date: 1/20/2011
Our group, with all members present, met in Katie Lovette’s office to discuss our project. Erik McKinnis completed the treatment for the Study Abroad segment and the group looked it over. Jayy Lovette went online to the TnCIS website and we looked over the Study Abroad site.  The group decided that Jayy Lovette and Erik McKinnis would get in touch with the Study Abroad contacts to set up interviews and the group decided to tentatively use B-roll along with interviews for the Study Abroad project. The site did not provide all of the information that we were hoping for, so more planning is scheduled.
The Old Spice parody is set to begin shooting on 1/25/2011. It will involve an overweight man who lures the ladies with his Old Spice scent. Being filmed shirtless, the actor, Warren, would agree to do it only if no women were at the shoot. Ann Hartsock agreed to not participate during the shoot. The group brainstormed Editing ideas and researched special effects for the shoot with Erik McKinnis agreeing to perform the majority of these effects.
Scheduling will be discussed on 1/25/2011 with the group emailing Ann Hartsock with the information.
Locations were chosen with Katie Lovette’s office as the office of the photojournalist from Jayy’s script. The group went downstairs to the studio to look at the location for lighting ideas and to discuss a shot from Jayy’s program where a round table will be used with people sitting around it where lighting techniques will be used.

Date: 1/21/2011
Jayy and Erik contacted Teresa Castillo to set up an interview for the Study Abroad promo.
